Common uses

This medication is used to remedy nervousness and tension or to help alleviate sleeping difficulties. Valium can also be used:

  • to relieve the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal (such as tremors);
  • as an anticonvulsant;
  • as a skeletal muscle relaxant;
  • to relieve muscle spasms;
  • to provide sedation before medical procedures;
  • and to prevent night terrors.

Before using
